St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and The Troubadour will be hosting the 2019 LEAD Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana from January 13-16, 2019. LEAD is an innovative experience for leaders in ministry where the participants provide much of the content. This includes TED-style talks, interactive breakouts, worship, and networking opportunities. It will all kickoff on Sunday night January 13th with an opening mixer sponsored by the Louisiana Annual Conference. Highlights of the 2019 conference include:

Rooftop Mixer

The Louisiana Annual Conference is sponsoring the opening mixer which will be held Sunday night January 13th at Monkey Board, The Troubadour’s rooftop bar. Our team will make a few opening remarks and lead mixer games. Non-alcoholic drinks and hors d‘oeuvres will be served and there will be a cash bar. 

Dynamic Speakers

All speakers at LEAD are full participants in the conference. This means there will be multiple opportunities to engage with the speakers and other participants about the stories and ideas that are shared from the LEAD stage. A full list of this year’s speakers can be found here. 

Interactive Breakouts

Every aspect of the conference is geared toward connecting with other participants. LEAD’s breakouts are designed to continue conversations that are sparked by the talks. Rather than have lecture style workshops, each breakout will have a facilitator that is also a full participant in the conference.

Closing Worship and Dinner Experience

The conference will close Tuesday night at Tomas Bistro for a worship arts experience led by Dale Fredrickson. We’ll also share communion that will be extended to a shared meal.  

As of the writing of this press release there are no more rooms available but there are fewer than a dozen commuter registrations. Registration can be found here. Single and Double registrations include three nights in The Troubadour hotel and all registrations include two breakfasts, two lunches, one dinner, and an opening reception of light hors d’oeuvres.
